Mitsubishi Releases the All-New 2012 i MiEV

The official web page of the Mitsubishi i MiEV reads, "Arriving early 2012."1 Well, Orlando area drivers - it's early 2012, and Mitsubishi has started delivering the first of these innovative electric vehicles. Here's the even better news: it's not only the most affordable mass-market EV, it's also the most efficient, with a MPGe rating of 112 from the EPA.

The first customers to get their Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle (MiEV) are all on the west coast. Yes, Oregon, Washington, California and even Hawaii drivers will be the first to get dibs on these efficient vehicles. Other markets will follow, starting with the East Coast in April and spreading around the country by the end of the summer, including Don Mealey's Sport Mitsubishi.

Starting at just $21,625, the i comes well-equipped, with a standard 8-year/100,00-mile battery warranty. Oh, it's already a cool-looking little car, but Mitsubishi has made the 2012 model available in five different colors. And on the inside, you can see that the automaker has put a lot of time into accounting for every watt and volt used to power the car. Regenerative brakes, three driving modes, lightweight materials, and easy-to-read efficiency meters on the dashboard ensure that your car is as green as you hope it will be.
